Miniature show case 2003 – 2006
I first encountered Warmachine in 2003 at the London Salute wargames convention, I was immediately hooked by the steam punk and Russian styled imagery. These figures were painted using a very different paint palette utilising stark contrast highlights softened with ink washes, some people liked the style but others found it far too glossy and “factory clean”. Further more it has been a challenge to effectively photograph these figures due to the high shine factor, more often then not light reflects heavily off these figures and the colours have a tendency to bleach out, as I hope to improve my painting I also hope to improve my photography skills at the same time. Despite this, I am lucky to say that at the time, my early works were popular, having featured in the earliest Harbinger wargames magazine three times in the painters gallery and also used for the Privateer Press display cabinets during Salute (UK) 2004.
